Legends of Runeterra is a digital card game similar to Magic The Gathering, Hearthstone, and Yu-Gi-Oh. Fans of League of Legends will instantly recognize the character cards in the game. They are all champions from LoL.
It’s a PvP card game with the goal of destroying the “Nexus” of your opponent, similarly to LOL. Legends of Runeterra is a turn-based game where you attack in one turn, and the other player defends. Players create their own decks with units and spells.
Once you set the units down on the table, you can attack with them, and the other player chooses their defending unit. All cards have their strengths and weaknesses based on which players create strategies and their respectable decks.
The game also has a single-player mode called “Lab of Legends”, where players take pre-made decks to combat computer players. Legends of Runeterra is available both for PCs and mobile play.
It’s a great deck-builder game that opens up the LOL lore. You can earn champions and other cards by playing, or you can buy them in-game. A deck needs to have 40 cards and a total of 6 champion cards. There are also spell landmarks and follower cards.
