Anonymizer VPN has been around for nearly 20 years, but perhaps it is past its prime.
Anonymizer VPN was originally used for businesses looking to privately transmit data across the web, or for employees looking to access company portals. Sure, Anonymizer may have been wildly useful back in those days, but as of now it is a product which simply has been outpaced by all of the other competing VPNs.
For one, Anonymizer has simply terrible speeds once users are connected to one of the two servers. A speed drop of nearly 60% is enough to deter even the most basic of internet users just looking for a protected connection. Following up on that point, Anonymizer only has two servers. Just two servers simply are not enough for a virtual private network which wants market share.
Though Netflix does work on one of the servers, it fails on the other. Those two server locations happen to be San Diego, and Amsterdam, which puts Anonymizer in somewhat of a tough spot for logging and data retention.
